May 3, 2018

MEDICINE HAT — Local residents looking for information on youth cannabis use are invited to attend a free Alberta Health Services (AHS) information session.

Curious about Cannabis is led by AHS addiction and mental health professionals who will share information on cannabis use with interested parents, professionals and/or community members. Participants will learn about the health effects of cannabis use, low-risk use guidelines, prevalence rates, prevention strategies and resources, and more.

The drop-in session will include a brief discussion about the proposed federal and provincial policies regarding cannabis legislation, which is expected to come into effect this summer.

Curious about Cannabis will be held May 16 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lecture Theatre in the Medicine Hat Public Library, 414 1 St. S.E. Registration is not required.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
