Local public health services resuming later this week

September 10, 2018

REDWATER – Alberta Health Service (AHS) is restoring local public health services starting Thursday (Sept. 13).

A public health clinic will run every second Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Redwater Health Centre. Call 780-942-3932 ext 3672 to make an appointment.

Earlier this year, local residents needed to travel to nearby communities — including Gibbons, Morinville and St. Albert — for public health services.

Local public health services will include immunization for all ages, influenza and school immunizations, communicable disease control, post-partum nursing care and support through the Healthy Beginnings program, as well as early childhood intervention visits.

AHS is committed to enhancing care in the community — and expanding public health services in Redwater reflects this commitment. AHS is continually evaluating the needs of our communities to see what improvements or additions can be made.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
