Public invited to learn about breast cancer options

EDMONTON – Local residents with questions about breast cancer and available options are invited to attend a free Alberta Health Services information session.

Breast Health: A Night for Reconstruction brings together local experts to share information about breast cancer, surgery, reconstruction, and the post-surgical options available.

Breast Health: A Night for Reconstruction will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Doors open at 6 p.m., with speakers from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Royal Alexandra Hospital’s Robbins Learning Centre, 10240 Kingsway N.W.

Among the presentations:

  • Breast cancer – know your options by Dr. David Olson.
  • An introduction to oncoplastic breast surgery by Dr. Lashan Peiris.
  • Breast reconstruction using breast implants by Dr. Lisa Korus.
  • Microsurgical reconstruction of your mastectomy – the DiEP flap by Dr. Paul Schembri.

There will also be question and answer opportunities.
