Addiction, mental health supports in place for residents

HIGH LEVEL — Alberta Health Services will be providing enhanced addiction and mental health services over the next few weeks to support residents in their return to High Level following the wildfire evacuation.

New, temporary walk-in services for individuals and their families with addiction and mental health concerns are now available seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Addiction and Mental Health Clinic at the Northwest Health Centre, 11202 100 Ave. This walk-in service is in addition to the scheduled visits with new and existing clients, which will resume weekdays starting Monday, June 10, from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

Returning home after a wildfire evacuation can be a stressful experience. If you need to talk, supports are also available 24/7 through the Mental Health Helpline at 1-877-303-2642, the Addiction Helpline at 1-866-332-2322, or Health Link at 811. Online mental health resources are available on the AHS website at ahs.ca/wildfire.
