St. Therese-St. Paul Healthcare Centre temporarily pauses surgical services

December 21, 2021

ST. PAUL —The St. Therese-St. Paul Healthcare Centre is temporarily pausing surgical services, including C-sections, effective immediately, due to a lack of anesthetist coverage.

Anesthetist coverage will resume at 8 a.m., January 4.

To ensure the safety of all patients, obstetrical services will be limited to low-risk patients during this time due to the lack of anesthetist capability.

AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time. This includes working with nearby sites in surrounding communities to provide care for patients with higher-level care needs requiring C-sections or surgical services.

Patient safety is of utmost importance to us and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
AHS is thankful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff, and the community for their patience and understanding.
