High Prairie Laboratory & Diagnostic Imaging re-opens

May 20, 2023

HIGH PRAIRIE — Laboratory and diagnostic imaging (DI) appointments, and walk-in x-ray services, have resumed at the High Prairie Health Complex (HPHC).

Any pre-booked appointments for these services will continue as planned, starting immediately. Appointments may be booked online at QMe or by phone by calling 1-877-702-4486. Access to walk-in lab appointments will be assessed over the next week.

HPHC has also resumed booking appointments for the Outpatient Clinic (780-536-2110).

Clients who missed appointments due to the wildfire are being contacted directly by AHS to be rescheduled as soon as possible.

HPHC emergency department reopened on May 8, the High Prairie Community Health and Wellness Clinic reopened on May 10, and dialysis services resumed May 12.

Patient safety and care remain our top priorities and we are working hard to ensure the community has care available. No additional services at HPHC are re-opening at this time. Inpatient admissions continue to be paused. EMS remains available to the community and will transport patients to nearby facilities as needed.

The HPHC and J.B. Wood Continuing Care Centre were temporarily evacuated and closed due to threat of local wildfires on May 6. AHS has been reaching out to families and loved ones of the evacuated inpatients and residents with information. If you have not been contacted, please reach out to HealthLink at 8-1-1 (patients) or Continuing Care Access at 1-855-371-4122 (residents).

We are extremely grateful for our frontline teams, staff and physicians who have come together to support the response across AHS.
