Fox Creek Emergency Department re-opens

May 24, 2023

FOX CREEK – The emergency department at the Fox Creek Healthcare Centre re-opened today, May 24, at 8 p.m.

Patient safety and care remain our top priorities and we are working hard to ensure the community has urgent care available.

No additional services at the Fox Creek Healthcare Centre are re-opening at this time. Inpatient admissions remain temporarily paused. EMS continues to be available to the community and will transport patients to alternate facilities as needed.

The Fox Creek Healthcare Centre was temporarily evacuated and closed due to threat of local wildfires on May 6.

All appointments with laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, mental health and public health in Fox Creek continue to be postponed at this time. Clients will be contacted directly by AHS to be rescheduled as soon as possible. Home care clients impacted by the evacuation have been contacted to arrange for alternative home visits and support from nursing teams.

We are extremely grateful for our frontline teams, staff and physicians who have come together to support the wildfire response across AHS.
