Bariatric Friendly Hospital Initiative, DON SCN

In 2017, 4 provincial working groups developed 7 standards for a Bariatric Friendly Hospital. Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) was the pilot site for the implementation of the 7 standards in 2018. Several resources were developed during the implementation at MHRH.

We are happy to be able to share some of the key resources developed that could support your site in working towards becoming a bariatric friendly hospital, by implementing all (or some) of the 7 standards.

Generic Implementation Plan

This implementation plan was developed in collaboration with experts in implementation science, and supports a multidisciplinary approach to implement and sustain changes required to become a bariatric friendly hospital.
