Explore a Passion for Health at Chinook Regional Hospital

June 20, 2016

LETHBRIDGE – Alberta Health Services (AHS) staff have a passion for health and we want to share it with our community.

Join us Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) atrium for a Passion for Health open house. Admission and parking are free. The event gives people of all ages an opportunity to learn more about health and wellness, and tour the hospital’s new wing and other areas.

Check out more than 20 interactive displays as you discover the many resources available to help you and your family stay healthy.

  • Talk face-to-face with local health care providers about topics such as quitting smoking, healthy eating, exercise and injury prevention.
  • See the inside of an ambulance and explore a disaster response trailer.
  • Have your blood pressure checked.
  • Learn more about supports and programs for seniors, including home care.
  • Explore career opportunities at AHS.
  • Learn about post-secondary health education in the city.
  • Find out how to be prepared in an emergency.

The hospital’s Ceremony Room will also have its grand opening in the new wing. The room will receive a blessing from elders of both the Piikani and Kainai reserves near Lethbridge. The blessing ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and visitors are advised that space inside the room will be limited.
