Walk-in clinics available for Pediatric COVID-19 immunizations in Central Zone

September 1, 2022

CENTRAL ZONE – Children six months-of-age and older can receive their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and children five years-of-age and older can receive their second dose or first booster in several communities across the Central Zone over the next month.

Children six months to four years will receive the Moderna vaccine, while children five to 11 years will receive the Pfizer vaccine.

Children aged five and older are eligible for their first dose, or their second dose a recommended eight weeks after the first dose. A booster dose (or third vaccine dose) for children five to 11 years old is recommended a minimum of five months after the last dose, or minimum of five months since a COVID-19 infection.

The below communities are holding pediatric walk-in clinics for COVID-19 immunization, which do not require an appointment.

If a walk-in clinic in your community is in high demand, individuals are recommended to book an appointment online at ahs.ca/covid, through Health Link at 811, or by calling their local pharmacy or physician’s office.

We encourage eligible Albertans to protect themselves and others by being vaccinated as soon as possible. Please bring your Alberta Health Care card if you have one, along with photo ID.

You will be required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer when visiting the site for your immunization. If you or your child are experiencing symptoms, we ask that you please stay home.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta.
