Indigenous health, public health info available at Fort McMurray fair

FORT McMURRAY — Residents are invited to learn more about local Indigenous health and public health services at a health information fair later this week.

The free Alberta Health Services (AHS) event will be held Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Fort McMurray Community Health Services, 113 Thickwood Blvd.

AHS healthcare professionals will be available to meet with residents to provide information and resources, and answer questions regarding pregnancy, birth and early childhood, sexual health, healthy living and local Indigenous health services.

Participants can learn more about routine childhood immunizations, infant feeding and nutrition, local AHS prenatal education classes, sexually transmitted infection testing, community hospital and public health Indigenous cultural support services, and other AHS and community healthcare services. Representatives from local community organizations will also be available to provide information and resources.
