Your Surgery

Before Your Visit

Your doctor’s office will contact you the day before surgery to notify you of your surgery arrival time. Contact the doctor’s office if you have any questions.

For Your Visit

Driving is not recommended. We encourage patients to arrange for transportation to and from the hospital.

You will need:

  • your Alberta health care card and photo ID for registration
  • a list of current medications/health concerns
  • all relevant paperwork instructed by your doctor’s office.
  • sunglasses, which will help with the glare and light sensitivity when you leave your appointment if you are dilated

Finding Us

We are located in the Active Treatment Centre located in the main building of the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Registration locations will depend on your surgical procedure, and will be identified on your pre-surgical paperwork.
