Indigenous Cancer Care Experiences

Short stories, based on Indigenous story-telling traditions help show the many values, beliefs, and needs of Indigenous cancer patients.

Patient Navigators & Cultural Liaisons

Indigenous Cancer Patient Navigators are registered nurses that help Indigenous People impacted by cancer. They help to bridge medical care with whole person wellness and can help with the details of navigating the cancer system, understanding your care, and coordinating appointments.

Indigenous Cultural Liaisons are Indigenous staff helping Indigenous people with cancer at the Cross Cancer Institute and the Arthur Child Cancer Centre. They help support people with cancer and their families, and bring a focus on cultural safety, bridging connection, and supporting spiritual and traditional practices.
