Pre-Admission Clinic Tour
Remember to bring your Alberta Healthcare card and a piece of photo ID. If you don't your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
Make sure to bring all the medicine you take in their original containers.
PAC is on the second floor. Take the, Outpatient elevators or staircase near the Information Desk. As you exit the elevator, go towards the "Lab," turn right, and the clinic desk is ahead on the left.
The Information Desk on the main floor has "wayfinders"; people in red shirts who can help you find your way. There are also electronic kiosks throughout the hospital that give directions.
Once your surgery date is booked, you will receive a phone call from a PAC nurse.
The nurse will go over your health history, the medicine you take, and tell you how to get ready for surgery. You may be sent some information on your surgery to read.
The nurse will also decide if you need to see an internal medicine or anaesthesia doctor before your surgery. You will be contacted if you do.
