Oncology & Hematology Program

Pediatric Oncology and Hematology are specialty programs at the Stollery Children’s Hospital that provide comprehensive care of children and adolescents who have cancer or blood disorders. Services include assessment, treatment and follow up for children experiencing a childhood cancer or blood disorder.

Our team offers a multidisciplinary approach to care for children and their families provided by specially trained personnel including: pediatric hematologists and oncologists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, neuropsychologist, child life specialists, dieticians, pharmacists, and social workers.

Inpatient services are provided on unit 4E3. Outpatient Oncology services, both clinic and dayward, are delivered on unit 4E2 adjacent to the inpatient unit. General and specialized hematology clinics take place on 2E and day hospital patients are treated on unit 2D.

The Hematology & Oncology program is involved in research locally, provincially, nationally and internationally, including the Children’s Oncology Group. Clinical research is essential to offering excellent care and current treatments to children with cancer or blood disorders.
