The Stollery Children’s Hospital School community recognizes that wherever students are, learning inspires, creates hope, joy and encourages a resilient path toward healing and health.

Our Programs

We offer patients learning programs; unique to each child, so students can continue their education at their own pace.

This can be done in two ways:

• School Classroom Program – The child attends school in one of two hospital classrooms (elementary and secondary).
• Bedside Teaching Program – A teacher brings individualized one on one learning opportunities to the child’s hospital bedside to meet the needs and interests of the student.

• Preserves a sense of identity for the child
• Keeps life as normal as possible while coping with hospital life and illness
• Helps with identification of any changes in learning to due to illness or injury
• Makes the transition back to the community school as smooth as possible
• Fosters partnership with families while students are in the hospital environment

Our Partnership

The school is a partnership between Stollery Children’s Hospital (Alberta Health Services) and Edmonton Public Schools (Alberta Education).

The school is under the direction of Hospital School Campuses which serves multiple hospital locations across the Edmonton area. All teachers are certified and follow the Alberta curriculum.
