Rehabilitation Oncology

Rehabilitation Oncology (also called cancer rehabilitation or rehabilitation medicine) is a set of interventions needed when a person is experiencing limitations and changes in everyday functioning due to cancer and/ or cancer-related treatment or cancer-related surgery. Examples of limitations in functioning are difficulties in thinking, seeing, hearing, communicating, moving around, having relationships or keeping a job.

Cancer Care Alberta offers rehabilitation support and services for cancer related issues. Cancer rehabilitation is a program that helps people with cancer maintain and restore physical, functional and emotional well-being. Cancer rehabilitation is available before, during and after cancer treatment.
