The Surgery SCN (SSCN) believes surgical care can be delivered sooner, safer and smarter using evidence to inform decision making. Working with clinicians, operational leaders, patients and families, leading researchers and partners across the province, the SSCN is dedicated to high quality, efficient, and sustainable surgical care.
Process for evaluating new health technologies or interventions in surgery and guiding decisions on responsible introduction of health technologies in Alberta. It involves rigorous, transparent review of evidence, feasibility analysis, safety, equity, and value.
Provincial team focused on enhancing physician communication and patient access. The team works on Alberta Netcare eReferral, Quality Referral Evolution (QuRE), Alberta Referral Pathways, and is a partner supporting the Alberta Surgical Initiative.
