We are located just west of the main entrance to the Health Science Building, on the grounds of the Foothills Hospital.
Located in the Teaching, Research and Wellness (TRW) Building at the Foothills Medical Centre, CCSC occupies 23,000 square feet and features six endoscopy rooms (colonoscopy procedures are performed in these rooms), three scope reprocessing rooms where high level disinfection of scopes is performed, 24 recovery beds, six nurse-clinician pre-assessment rooms, a theatre for public and professional educational activities and research facilities.
As a state of the art, publicly funded non-hospital facility, CCSC is the first of its kind in Canada. Beyond providing clinical screening and treatment, CCSC is actively engaged in clinical research and education. Research activities include the evaluation of current and potential techniques for colon cancer screening such as virtual colonography, stool-based tests and blood markers.
