For Your Appointment

Remember to bring your Alberta Health Care card and a piece of photo ID.

Parking at the site is limited; plan to give yourself enough time to arrive at your appointment.

We will need to review your medications during the appointment. Remember to either bring all your medications or a complete list of your up-to-date medications.

Finding Us

The Heart Function Stabilization Clinic is located on the 6th floor of the Robbins Pavilion at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Enter the main doors of the Robbins Pavilion and take the elevator to the 6th floor. Exit the elevator and turn right and proceed down the hall to the sign for the Heart Function Stabilization Clinic/room 6S121. Enter the room and check in for your appointment at the reception desk.

If arriving through the main entrance of the Royal Alexandra Hospital on Kingsway Ave, follow the signs to the Robbins Pavilion and then take the elevator to the 6th floor.


What to Expect

Your appointment may take up to 1.5 hours. Every effort will be made to start your appointment on time; however, delays can occur. We ask that anyone attending the appointment with you or those who are picking you up are aware of the possibility of extended appointment times.

During this visit, you may meet a variety of professionals specializing in cardiac care as part of your assessment, including registered nurses, cardiology technologists, cardiologists and other allied health individuals.

Following your assessment, the Heart Function Stabilization Clinic care team will talk with you about how best to treat your symptoms and manage your heart failure, as well as your follow-up treatment and care.
