Just Diagnosed

Being diagnosed with cancer is devastating and often shocking. It changes many things in your life. You might be feeling overwhelmed or find yourself wondering what to expect. These resources are a good starting point for helping you get information and practical help. Your Cancer Care team is here to support you through it.

At any time, if you or your family need emotional support, find help in Supportive Care & Living Well.

Good to know: When you come to any one of our cancer centres for your first visit (consult) and any future visits with your health care team, we will ask you to fill out a form called Putting Patients First. It is a communication tool to help us understand any challenges you may be facing and what supports you may need. Cancer Care Alberta, along with Alberta Health Services is committed to a person-centred care approach. Improving your experience and supporting you better is a part of this.
