Your first appointment may last up to an hour, so please come prepared. During this time you and your child may see several different professionals including a medical resident or fellow, nurse practitioner and/or a neurosurgeon.
During the appointment we will review your child's complete history and answer any questions you have about your child's medical condition. Treatment options will also be discussed.
As of September 1, 2011 Alberta Health Services no longer covers the costs associated with a custom remolding helmet. If a helmet is required, the costs involved will be discussed during your initial appointment at the Headshape Clinic.
The Stollery Children’s Hospital is a teaching hospital. Be aware that we often have learners in our clinic so you may also see medical residents and health care students as members of your child’s health care team.
