Vacation & Named Holidays

Vacation

Your vacation entitlement depends on your employee group (Collective Agreement or Terms and Conditions) and job details (full-time, part-time, casual, FTE and length of employment – if applicable).

See a summary of vacation time by employee group here.

Accrual

Full- time and part-time employees accrue paid vacation every pay period, and can see accumulated vacation hours in e-People.

Casual (on-call) employees receive a paid-out percentage of their regular earnings in lieu of vacation and named holidays every pay period, and can see the paid-out amount on their Pay Advice.

Review the e-People User Guide for information on how to view your pay advice and vacation bank balance.

Named Holidays

AHS observes 12 Named Holidays annually; New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Heritage Day Alberta, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

For more information on Vacation & Named Holidays, please refer to your Collective Agreement or Terms and Conditions and Vacation Policy for more information. See a summary of vacation time by employee group here.
