In the event of natural disasters or other emergencies, healthcare services may be disrupted.
Though all efforts will be made to ensure that our patients receive their regularly scheduled dialysis treatments, this may not always be possible depending on the nature of the emergency.
Being prepared for emergency situations, even if they never occur, can help you know what to do in case you miss your dialysis treatment.
Should services be disrupted, information about emergency planning, preparedness, and updates on what to do during emergency situations in Alberta will be made available for you.
If alternate hemodialysis arrangements are required due to an evacuation, Alberta Kidney Care – North will make those arrangements for you, once we know where you have safely evacuated to.
Call the patient navigation office (open regular business hours on weekdays) at 780-407-1797. Outside of these hours, contact the Alberta Kidney Care – North Manager on Call through the University of Alberta Hospital Switchboard at 780-407-8822.
